There's absolutely no way I would have spent that amount of money on a piece of software without having the chance to try it thoroughly first. While I have no doubt that I was using pirated software before, it's because of that pirated software that Steinberg now have £500 of my money and a new loyal customer. You're absolutely right, of course, but my favourable experiences with the H2O "try before buy" version of Cubase SX3 were directly responsible for my decision to purchase a copy of Cubase 4. Giving it a nice gimmicky name does'nt make it legal. It's not try before you buy, it's pirated software.
